StreetIdea is an independent financial intelligence platform that surfaces what insiders, executives, and institutions are doing — using public SEC EDGAR Form 4 filings, real-time market data, and original editorial analysis. We turn the same filings Wall Street reads into pages anyone can navigate.
StreetIdea pulls insider trade filings (SEC Form 4) the moment they hit EDGAR, normalizes them, and presents them next to the live stock quote, sector, and recent news for the same ticker. Where most retail tools stop at "buy/sell totals," we add structured analytics: cluster buying alerts, conviction scoring for individual insiders, sector-rotation flow, fear & greed indicators, and earnings-surprise tracking.
Alongside the data layer, our editorial team publishes original analysis pieces — clearly labeled as such and bylined to a named author with a bio page — that synthesize the filings, earnings, and macro context into something readable. News headlines from licensed sources are aggregated as a discovery layer; we never reproduce full articles.
Every "Original" tagged piece is written by a named author with a public bio. We document our editorial process and corrections policy in our Editorial Policy.
Insider trades come straight from SEC EDGAR — public domain, no scraping of paid databases. Stock prices come from Finnhub. We list every data source on our Data Sources page.
Latest news headlines are pulled from licensed RSS feeds (Seeking Alpha, Reuters, etc.). We display the headline, summary, source, and a link back — never the full article body.
Insider filings sync every 30 minutes. News refreshes every 10 minutes. Stock quotes update hourly. Stock company profiles refresh weekly.
StreetIdea is operated by a small independent team of finance and engineering generalists based in the United States. Our editorial contributors include both staff writers and a network of vetted finance journalists, each of whom maintains a public author profile on the site listing their beat, background, and prior bylines. We don't publish anonymous opinion pieces in finance categories.
We don't take payment for editorial coverage. Articles are never sponsored, gated, or written to influence a stock price. Revenue comes from contextual display advertising (Google AdSense) — never from pay-for-play coverage.
StreetIdea is free to use. The site is funded by Google AdSense display advertising and, in the future, optional paid premium tools (alerts, exports). We do not sell user data, do not run sponsored articles, and do not accept payment to feature specific tickers or insiders.
